Course Information
With the development of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) into more and more approach procedures on a world-wide scale, it is important to review the procedures for both precision and non-precision approaches using RNP limitations. This program is designed specifically for RNP approaches using Boeing aircraft; there is another program for RNP approaches on Airbus aircraft. This program reviews the following information for Boeing aircraft: General definitions and principles for non-precision RNP approaches. Pilot procedures and requirements to fly an RNP approach. Setup of the navigational display for the approach. A breakdown of the approach process starting prior to the approach, during the approach and landing from the approach; and a discussion of abnormal and contingency procedures during the approach to include an engine failure during the approach. This program is a concise review of Boeing procedures and requirements to accomplish RNP approaches. As a reminder, there is another program for RNP approaches for Airbus aircraft.
