GENERAL RNP APPROACH PROCEDURES

Course Information

With the development of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) into more and more approach procedures on a world-wide scale, it is important to review the procedures for both precision and non-precision approaches using RNP limitations. This program is designed specifically for RNP precision approaches. This program reviews the following RNP general information: General definitions and principles for precision RNP approaches, to include RNP AR approaches. A discussion of the conventional overlay approach requirement, approach naming protocols. RNP approach limitations for temperature, minima, and pitch mode limitation. Pilot procedures and requirements to fly an RNP approach. Setup of the navigational display for the approach. A breakdown of the approach process starting prior to the approach, during the approach and landing from the approach or a go-around for the approach and a discussion of abnormal and contingency procedures during the approach to include an engine failure during the approach. This program is a concise review of the requirements to accomplish RNP approaches.
